My Teaching Philosophy / Sharing my Passion

My philosophy is quite simple:  I dedicate myself to helping students of all ages and ability levels to develop their playing and musical skills.  Every student is unique, which makes my work very interesting.  Each student learns a little differently and requires flexibility on my part.  I enjoy finding creative solutions to any obstacle a student may encounter.  It's a pleasure to see how motivated students become when they experience success!  I have  prepared players for college and conservatory auditions, and count a young artists’ competition winner among my students.  Whatever your musical goals, I have the teaching skills and experience to help you.

With today’s busy schedules--both for children and adults--learning how to practice efficiently is paramount.  In my thirty-plus years of teaching I’ve developed practice techniques that produce great results, which I am eager to share with you.  My comprehensive approach to learning also develops students’ ability to read music and understand the theory behind the notes--all while having fun playing the guitar!
